The goal in the construction of every Comptone drum is to produce a superior sounding instrument that is attractive and durable. After experimenting with numerous parts and shell materials, I have found what I feel is the best combination for both studio and live applications. The instruments I build are more affordable than most custom drum companies and far better sounding that the drums from the larger drum manufacturers. All Comptone Drums are made one at a time to the customer's specifications. I build drums for discerning musicians— I will not make a poor instrument.

I am not interested in following trends and fashions that produce inferior instruments. My desire is to create drum sounds that will stand the test of time. We have made ply and segment drums of all sorts for many discriminating customers and collectors. At Comptone, we will work with you to get the great sounding instrument that you want.

Moreover, I have developed techniques that simply are unavailable to larger companies. These will save you both time and money. My lead times are usually half of many major companies and much shorter than most larger custom companies. I can usually have your drum delivered within 4-6 weeks at the most.
